General Mobility Plan, Dietikon
The city of Dietikon is one of the most dynamic centers in the Zurich agglomeration.
With several major urban development projects (Niderfeld district, densification along Zürcherstrasse and Badenerstrasse, Limmatfeld district), the city is facing not only demographic growth but also significant traffic increases.
The core idea behind the overall traffic concept was the coordination of transport and urban development—not focusing on conflicts, but on synergies. Based on an integrated analysis of transport and urban form, the network hierarchy was revised and supplemented with new network elements. In parallel, the transport function and the urban role of the streets were aligned, and initial redesign proposals were developed.
The focus was not only on updated network functions (public transport, active mobility, private motorized traffic), but also on the urban integration of streets into their surroundings. As part of the participatory process, clear, stage-appropriate sketches, plans, and visualizations were created to support dialogue and decision-making.
