The Stadtweiher is a diverse area directly adjacent to the old town of Sempach and lies within the ISOS perimeter. Based on the site’s urban development potential, a qualitative and sustainable development strategy was developed for the area. As part of the green belt surrounding the old town, the green character is given priority. To create added value, a gentle, site-sensitive development includes complementary functions for the small town (underground parking, senior housing, library). The building volumes respond to the spatial context, important sightlines are preserved, and connectivity to the surroundings, as well as pedestrian pathways through the neighborhood, are improved.
