The study on the location of Jegenstorf station stems from expansion projects by the RBS railway company, specifically the extension of platforms to 180 meters and the upgrade to double tracks towards Solothurn. It explored two options for the station’s location (current site or relocation), integrating aspects of mobility and urban structure with particular attention to the character of the locality.

The study concludes that the current station is well located and can be optimally designed in interaction with the village core and the new neighborhoods.
