Spatial Development Concept Sarnen

As part of its local planning revision, the Municipality of Sarnen has developed a Spatial Development Concept. This concept is based on the guidelines of the cantonal structure plan as well as broad public participation. The municipality’s vision for the future outlines the desired spatial development and is founded on six guiding principles, including the enhancement of landscape quality, the experiential accessibility of Lake Sarnen and the Sarner Aa, targeted inner development along the railway corridor, and the creation of attractive public spaces. Building on this vision, thematically structured strategies with defined fields of action were developed to purposefully guide settlement development. Spatial implementation is carried out through synthesis plans and in-depth studies of key projects. These form the basis for the revision of land use planning and building regulations, while also serving as a tool for communication with the public.
